Spares Bridge

Spares Bridge handles the odd replacements and artwork updates that crop up once an install is already on the wall.

Replacement panel workflow on live sites

Spares Bridge is for replacement panels, corrected artwork, and small follow-on items after an install is already on the wall. It helps keep colour, sizing, and job references aligned when only part of the original work needs to be remade.

Spares Bridge is used when one part of a completed wall-art job must be remade without disturbing the rest of the install. The record needs the original size, crop, substrate and finish, plus a current site photo so the new piece can be matched against what is still on the wall. On South African projects this often matters after handling damage, tenant changes, or a corrected print discovered during snagging.

Capture the first reference image before anything is removed from the wall. That image should show panel joins, trim edges, frame colour, and any nearby light source that may shift how the replacement reads in the room. Keep the job code with the artwork file so the reprint does not drift from the approved version.

Records kept with each spare request

A Spares Bridge entry ties the replacement item back to the original install rather than sitting as a loose reprint request. Include the exact print dimensions, orientation, substrate, laminate or framing detail, and the room or wall reference used on site drawings. This is especially useful where one reception wall, passage set, or boardroom series shares similar artwork across several panels.

Link Spares Bridge to the approved artwork and any substrate note before releasing a remake. Recheck panel numbering, visible scale, and courier labelling against the existing installation so the parcel arrives identifiable for the installer. Share a photo of the space and the print finish you like, and the studio will plan the piece.

  • Matched reprints for single damaged panels
  • Current wall photo with trim and joins
  • Original job reference kept with remake

Checks that matter on SA remakes

Remakes moving through Gauteng, Durban or Cape Town need clear labelling when they are only one part of a larger completed job. Similar suburb names, shared site contacts, and multi-tenant delivery points can cause confusion if the replacement panel is not tied back to the first installation record. Keep spares separate from new production batches where the handling spec or finish differs.

Near the coast, salt in the air can mark some finishes sooner, especially in open foyers and beachfront hospitality sites. Inland installations collect fine dust, which changes how framed prints and acrylic-faced pieces should be wiped down between maintenance visits. During load-shedding, print scheduling and installer access windows often need a second check before replacement panels are sent out.

Information to load into Spares Bridge

Use Spares Bridge for replacement prints, discontinued sizes and matching artwork after the main job is done.

Add the request while the installer, buyer, and artwork trail still match up. Useful notes include the original order reference, panel position, reason for replacement, visible measurements taken on site, and any change from the first approved file. That gives the remake a clear place within the wider wall-art package instead of treating it as a new stand-alone item.
