Remote Check

A clear process for remote design checks in South Africa, written for decor teams who already work with site realities.

How Remote Check works on an actual project week

Remote Check is for reviewing artwork, measurements, and placement before print or installation starts. It helps Wall Art Designs flag scaling, alignment, and wall-condition issues without sending a team to site first.

Remote Check starts with the wall as it stands on site, not with the print file alone. Photos taken square-on, final measurements, cornice or skirting positions, plug points, light fittings, and window glare all help us assess scale and placement before production. For South African projects, details such as fresh paint, coastal damp, uneven plaster, and access through lifts or narrow passages can change how artwork should be sized or installed.

Include one wide room view and one close image of the actual wall surface. A tape measure visible in the photo helps when we compare supplied dimensions to the artwork layout, especially for diptychs, triptychs, and full-width feature walls. If there is an existing frame, vinyl graphic, or sign to remove, note that in the pack as well.

Checks done before print

The review focuses on whether the artwork suits the measured space and mounting conditions given in the brief. We flag issues such as cropped logos, undersized panels, centre lines that fight with furniture, and placements that land too close to switches, bulkheads, or reception counters. This gives decor teams a working record they can use before approving print or booking installation.

Use Remote Check alongside your marked-up layout before you release artwork to print. Reconfirm finished size, panel count, substrate choice, and installation height, then send everything through the contact form. If a wall has damage, fresh skim coat, or uneven paint sheen, mention that clearly in the notes.

Site conditions checked before print

A remote review is useful on office walls, apartment passages, hotel corridors, shopfront interiors, and boardroom feature areas where access can be awkward or measurements are easy to misread. Gauteng sites often raise alignment issues around glazing, bulkheads, and built-in joinery, while Cape Town and Durban briefs may need extra attention to moisture, salt air, or strong natural light. If branding rules, landlord restrictions, or centre management requirements apply, include them with the first pack.

Wall condition matters as much as artwork size. Hollow plaster, patched sections, textured paint, and recently repaired surfaces can affect vinyl adhesion, frame fixing points, and how level lines read once the piece is up. On larger walls, even a small measurement error can throw out spacing across multiple panels.

Photo Pack for Wall Review

Send the Remote Check brief with wall photos, measurements, layout notes, and the concern you want checked before print or install.

Attach the artwork preview, measured width and height, wall photos, and a note on the concern you want checked. It helps to include intended viewing distance, furniture below the piece, and whether the job is canvas, framed print, wallpaper, acrylic, or vinyl. When the client has approved a specific option, mark that version clearly so the review stays tied to the correct file.
